10/11 pics - Village tour, afternoon walk, and the huge Ferris Wheel - Star of Nanchang
Village tour
Village market area
A lady selling meat. Our guide said that the animal probably had just died that morning.
Village market
Our group walking down a street in the village
A child that we found. The lady was happy that we gave her candy - a rare treat. Evelyn, our very pregnant guide is on the right.
The red couplets on either side of the door - changed out on New Years each year. This was a typical front door - laundry hanging and veggies drying.
Citrus tree - grapefruit I think
Rice farmer - This was the gentleman's front yard - full of rice drying in the sun.
Village clinic
Aidan giving a child candy who was getting an IV. She said most kids who go to the doctor gets IVs because it's quick.
Not sure what she was carrying - veggies or water?
This elderly man was loaded down.
Solar water heater
Pump in the middle of a village where they shared water.
One lady volunteered to show us how it worked.
Community bathrooms
That sign means "men".
Rice drying
Small farming plots
These people had a death in the family. Their couplets are white.
Spot for washing clothes
Incense
We found more children and gave more candy. :)
Village exercise center - new
Typical site in Nanchang - Evelyn teaching us as we ride along.
Afternoon walk
Back at hotel
We got papers back which made things on the China side official. Look at poor Ellie Kay's sad face. It was taken the first day.
A calligrapher came to the hotel to make scrolls with the babies' names.
All 5 Jiangxi babies' scrolls
More playfulness from silly boys.
Star of Nanchang - HUGE Ferris Wheel. Most of us rode it and had a great time.
Matt and Aidan driving this little toy after we rode the Ferris Wheel. I have no idea what it was. Jacob, Ellie Kay, and I were in another. They rocked back really far and zoomed around. It was fun!
